What it is.
Swedish massage is the foundation of modern Western massage — long flowing strokes, kneading, light tapping, gentle stretching. The pressure is light to medium throughout. Oil is used. It is the most-booked service at Lumea, and the right starting point if you have never had a massage at home before.

What to expect.

Arrival
Your therapist arrives, sets up the table, lays out the linens. She will ask three things: what hurts, what to avoid, what music you would like.

Opening
Warm oil, broad palms, long strokes across the back. Your body is being asked to soften.

The work
Across the back, shoulders, arms, legs. Even pressure throughout. The therapist moves at a steady, unhurried pace.
7 min
The close
A few minutes of stillness, then back to long strokes. You are left in the room with cold water.
What we bring.
A folding massage table. Cream linens, freshly laundered. Three oils to choose from. A small speaker with our music or yours. Warm towels heated in a small kettle.
What you'll need.
A quiet room, dim if possible. Floor space about 2m × 3m. 60–90 minutes uninterrupted.

Honest answers.
How firm is "light to medium"?
Lighter than most people expect. If you want firm pressure, book Deep Tissue instead — we will not try to make Swedish work as a deep-tissue substitute.
Do I need to undress completely?
Down to your underwear is typical. You are under linens the whole time, and only the area being worked on is uncovered. You can wear whatever feels comfortable.
Is oil washed off afterwards?
We use light oils that absorb. A warm shower an hour or two later is fine, but you do not need to rush.
